Stephen J. Incavo, MD, Chair of the Communications and Electronic Media Subcommittee gave the following report at the AAHKS Annual Meeting:

Most significant activities or developments:

The most significant activity has been the deployment of a new website Content Management System. Using WordPress along with our Amazon Web Services allows us more flexibility in maintaining and creating content. In the last month, the website received 15,972 visitors. We are experiencing a significant increase in the number of visitors to the website who are performing Google searches for hip and knee care. In the last month, our patient education materials on total hip replacement and total knee replacement received 4,700 visitors alone. This is a prime opportunity for us to educate a captive audience about the association and its mission.

Plans for next year:

Next year, we would like to explore expanding our membership database capabilities in order to provide a more robust doctor finder function. We would also like to work with the Patient Education Committee in creating video content for our consumer audience.
