The century-old cherry trees lining the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC reached peak bloom on March 24. Depending on weather, the blossoms can remain on the trees for days after as the leaves come in. The Tidal Basin is in walking distance of the Grand Hyatt Washington where the First Annual AAHKS Spring Meeting takes place March 31-April 2. The National Park Service Cherry Blossom Festival hosts events every day through April 3 and include ranger-led lantern walks starting at 8:00 p.m. on April 1 and 2. There is still time to register for the Spring Meeting.
