A story in the 3D Printing Industry (3DPI) news blog looks at research being conducted at Central Queensland University in Australia that combines 3D bioprinting with crocodile protein. “The 3D bioprinting explant technique, transferring a cell or a piece of tissue from a plant or animal to human body, can potentially replace current methods of joint repairs that require surgery,” according to 3DPI. The crocodile cartilage is waste material that is collected from a local farm that harvests crocodiles for the restaurant industry. Full story.
