Last week, AAHKS members Andrew Freiberg, MD and William J. Maloney, III, MD lectured at the combined AAHKS and Japanese Society for Replacement Arthroplasty (JSRA) symposium in Fukuoka, Japan. The symposium was held during the JSRA’s 45th Annual Meeting. With more than 2,940 members, the main objective of JSRA is to make progress and development in both clinical and experimental research concerning total joint arthroplasty. Many members of the JSRA are also members of AAHKS. “This symposium was a highlight of this meeting. We initiated a project to establish academic communication between AAHKS and JSRA. I hope the momentum will be kept alive and that we will do all within our resources to merit its continuance,” said Masatoshi Naito, MD, PhD, President of the 45th JSRA Annual Meeting, Vice President of Fukuoka University, and Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Fukuoka University.
