AAHKS Joins Opposition to Congressional Resolutions on Physician Definition

AAHKS joined the AMA and more than 75 other state and specialty societies in writing to leaders in the Senate and House of Representatives in opposition to S. 2772 / H.R. 884. The letter states that this legislation “would change the definition of ‘physician’ under the Medicare program to include clinical psychologists” and not properly address access to mental health and substance use disorder services under Medicare.
