The 39th Annual Meeting of the Israel Orthopaedic Association, held last month in Tel Aviv, was a great success. AAHKS members Harpal S. “Paul” Khanuja, MD, Matthew S. Austin, MD, Brett R. Levine, MD and Ran Schwarzkopf, MD, MSc participated in the AAHKS co-branded meeting in collaboration with Yona Kosashvili, MD, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Tel Aviv University and Head of Orthopedics at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot. Dr. Kosashvili and Dr. Schwarzkopf put together an outstanding series of lectures and case discussions. The hosts were very receptive to our talks on primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty topics, which included the use of robotics, management of hip instability, outpatient surgery and diagnosis and management of trunnionosis.
Tel Aviv was a wonderful city for the meeting, providing many memorable moments. We hope to continue the collaboration with Israeli colleagues as international members of AAHKS, with research submissions to the Journal of Arthroplasty and Arthroplasty Today as well as further co-branded meetings in the future. This has been a great relationship thus far, and we hope to continue to foster this in the years to come.
