Research
The Knee Society, supported by AAHKS, the NIH, AAOS and others conducted a research conference, “Strategies to Improve Total Knee Arthroplasty” this week in Bethesda, Md. In attendance were AAHKS Immediate Past President Jay R. Lieberman, MD, Executive Director Mike Zarski, JD and other AAHKS leaders and staff. The objective of the conference was “to develop a comprehensive research plan with efforts focused in areas most likely to bear fruit in improving outcomes and lessening complications of total knee arthroplasty.” The results of the conference will be published later this year.
Devices and Diagnostics
Prior to the research conference, Mr. Zarski attended a Device and Diagnostics Compliance Group Meeting conducted by AdvaMed – Advanced Medical Technology Association in Fort Worth, Texas where he addressed a group of legal compliance officers from medical device companies on educational conference issues arising from industry and medical society partnerships.
International
One of the 2016 Guest Societies, the Indian Society of Hip & Knee Surgeons, concluded their 10th Annual Conference in Chennai, India earlier this month. AAHKS co-branded this conference which featured a presentation of “Highlights of the 25th AAHKS Annual Meeting” by Daniel J. Berry, MD. The Times of India covered the meeting.
