AAOS, together with AAHKS and other medical associations and the physician community, is urging Congress to continue the progress already made toward replacing the flawed SGR formula. On February 4, 2015, physician leaders from across the country and from dozens of medical associations will converge on Washington, DC to stress the importance of passing a permanent SGR fix. In addition, physicians can participate in a “virtual lobby day” on Capitol Hill using email, phone calls, Twitter, and Facebook.
To participate, contact your member of Congress on or around February 4th or visit advocacy.aaos.org/sgr to send an email or tweet. You can also post your own messages to Twitter using #FixSGR, or visit the Facebook page of your member of Congress. Not sure what to say? Our message is simply for Congress to pass the SGR reform bill before the current patch expires on March 31, 2015. Visit advocacy.aaos.org/sgr for additional talking points, and be sure to make it personal!
