CMS Field Testing Elective Primary Hip Arthroplasty MIPS Cost Measure

Starting in October of 2018, CMS will conduct field testing of cost measures including one for elective primary hip arthroplasty. The measures could be used in Medicare’s Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) starting in 2020. The hip measure was developed with input from AAHKS. During October, test reports with your cost performance will be available to review and to provide feedback. CMS encourages providers and their staff to prepare for field testing by configuring an Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM) account.
