COVID-19 Resources

AAHKS is making this information available in one place for orthopaedic surgeons.

AAHKS members are part of the healthcare system’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As an organization, we support the U.S. Surgeon General, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state public health officials as well as local healthcare facilities as they coordinate the best response to this public health crisis. We recognize conditions vary across the country and that our response will evolve as better tests, prophylaxis and treatments become available.

AAHKS is currently supporting hip and knee surgeons to manage patients whose surgeries are delayed and to efficiently provide pre- and post-operative patient care through telemedicine.

A special supplement to the Journal of Arthroplasty will feature articles that cover a number of issues like the orthopaedic response from the epicenter, resuming surgery, changes to orthopaedic education, managing patient care, PPE best practices and more. Articles are online in press and open access now.
