Florida Debates Overnight Stays in ASCs

Outpatient Surgery magazine reports that a Florida bill that would allow patients to stay overnight in ambulatory surgical centers (ASC) failed in the Florida Senate this week. The Florida House approved the bill that would have allowed patients to stay up to 24 hours following surgery. Currently, Florida requires that patients are discharged from ASCs the same day.
