Hip-Spine Collaboration Encouraged by Orthopedics Today

The cover story of the June issue of Orthopedics Today suggests that, “Surgeons should educate each other on the hip-spine connection.” Several AAHKS members were interviewed for the article, which features studies that show “important connections between the alignment of the spinal column and the position of the pelvis.” Both the 2018 AAHKS Annual Meeting and 2019 AAHKS Spring Meeting included symposia on this topic as more hip surgeons are interested in collaborating with their spine surgeon colleagues on diagnosis and treatment of hip-spine pathology.
