In Memoriam: John R. Tongue, MD

On August 25, 2019, John R. Tongue, MD died at his home on Oswego Lake in Oregon. Dr. Tongue served as the 80^th President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2012, and served as faculty at AAHKS Annual Meetings. He was a clinical associate professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) School of Medicine. He was instrumental in passing the Oregon Safety Belt Law using his first-hand experience in orthopaedic trauma and received the 1991 Public Service Award from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association. OHSU has published a remembrance.
