The latest survey of AAHKS members taken during the COVID-19 pandemic includes feedback on the return to elective total joint arthroplasty (TJA). Members reported on surgical safeguards, new protocols and financial relief. These are a few highlights:
- 11% performing elective primary TJA
 - 24% starting to roll back restrictions on elective TJA with most returning by the end of May
 - 78% testing all patients for COVID-19
 - 42% receiving CARES Act disbursements
 - 51% (down 19%) concerned that their work poses a risk to their families
 - 68% (up 6%) adapting to the professional and personal challenges of the pandemic successfully
