Larkin Community Hospital (LCH) in South Miami, Florida and Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine have launched a new medical residency training program in Orthopedic Surgery approved by the American Osteopathic Association.
The Center for Advanced Orthopedics at LCH, led by former AAHKS President, Carlos Lavernia, MD, will be the main training site for the new orthopedic program. The center specializes in advanced orthopedic surgery using the latest perioperative pain management modalities and state of art technology and instrumentation with advanced robotic technology. According to LCH, research being done at the center has resulted in better outcomes and changed the way orthopedic surgeons practice.
