Orthopaedic Surgeon Joins Marines after Son’s Death

HBO has produced a video about Bill Krissoff, MD, who joined the Marines as a battalion surgeon after his son, Nathan, who was on active duty as a First Lieutenant in Iraq, was killed by a roadside bomb in 2006. Dr. Krissoff received a special “age waiver” from President George W. Bush, as he was 61 at the time of his service. Commander Krissoff served in the 4^th Medical Battalion in Iraq, Afghanistan and Cuba seeing more than 225 casualties. Watch the video.
