Patrick Conway Leaves CMS

CMS has announced that Patrick Conway, MD, MSc, Deputy Administrator for Innovation and Quality and CMS Chief Medical Officer will leave the agency to serve as CEO for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Dr. Conway received the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service this past February after being nominated by AAHKS. “We commend Dr. Conway on his efforts in working with us and other physician groups to make programs better for patient access and care, and wish him well in this new endeavor,” said Mike Zarski, AAHKS Executive Director.
