The US House Committee on Ways and Means announced that leaders in Congress have introduced a bipartisan, bicameral bill that seeks to permanently fix the SGR formula. “This bipartisan policy agreement is an important milestone in finally resolving the flawed SGR formula, providing certainty for seniors and their physicians, and creating a system that promotes the highest quality of care,” stated the committee’s news release. AAHKS joined hundreds of medical organizations in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner last week urging the repeal of the failed SGR. Full story.
