Senate Returns Tuesday, Immediate Action Required

The United States Senate returns to session on Tuesday, April 14 after a two-week recess. The House of Representatives had passed legislation to repeal the SGR; however, the Senate failed to act before leaving on their break. The SGR patch expired on April 1, and a 21% cut to Medicare payments was enacted. According to the BOS Washington Update, “the administration can only hold claims until April 15, which is why the Senate must act immediately upon return or risk the damage these cuts will make on physicians and patients.” Contact your Senators now and urge them to take action immediately.
