What Patients are Watching: Opioid Alternative Plan

ABC affiliate, KRDV 12 in Oregon, featured an interview with AAHKS member, James R. Van Horne, MD, who has created a treatment plan for patients to stop using narcotics for pain control within the first week after hip or knee replacement surgery. Part of the plan is optimizing the patients’ health prior to surgery and a multi-modal approach during and after surgery. Dr. Van Horne is also working on a study to share his program with fellow surgeons. Full story.
