AAHKS has participated in the American Medical Association’s (AMA) House of Delegates for 17 years and through our presence represented the distinct interests of AAHKS members. As we have experienced a period of rapid growth for our association, we have fallen below the AMA’s required 20% threshold of AAHKS members who also belong to the AMA.

AAHKS members are impacted by AMA policies. We can restore our eligibility to represent total joint surgeons in the RVS Update and CPT Advisory Committees, as well as the AMA House of Delegates if you join the AMA. Aside from securing your distinct interests, membership in the AMA offers many other benefits and strengthens the power of physicians as stakeholders in healthcare as the system evolves.
