With many statewide executive orders allowing elective surgeries to resume in phases, hip and knee arthroplasty is resuming at many institutions. Ten surgeon leaders shared their strategies for ramping back up in a conversation with Becker’s Spine Review.

Also this week, a comprehensive set of consensus guidelines, “COVID-19 Pandemic: Protocols for Resuming Elective Orthopedic Surgery,” was assembled by the International Consensus Meeting (ICM) on Musculoskeletal Infection led by Javad Parvizi, MD, FRCS. Dr. Parvizi, who serves as Chair of the AAHKS Research Committee, enlisted the help of committee members to review the guidelines.
