Congress Introduces DXA Test Legislation

AAHKS signed on to a letter with the AAOS thanking Members of Congress for introducing the “Increasing Access to Osteoporosis Testing for Medicare Beneficiaries Act of 2017.” The legislation will help “ensure that patients have access to dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) testing by creating a reimbursement rate floor for a DXA test administered in a doctor’s office. DXA is critical first test in quantifying the severity of osteoporosis.” Read the letter.
