AAHKS President C. Lowry Barnes, MD met with U.S. Congressman Roger Marshall, MD (KS-1st District) to discuss several issues important to AAHKS members. The discussion included the economic and practice impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on AAHKS members and their patients including government relief for the health care sector, requests for additional PPE and testing funding. They also discussed the burdens of prior authorization and maintaining the value of total joint replacement as the practice of adult reconstruction evolves with additional pre-operative optimization and the growth of bundled care. Dr. Marshall is running for U.S. Senate for the seat being vacated by Senator Pat Roberts. Learn more.
