Fellow physician and Congressman Roger Marshall, MD currently serves in the 1st Congressional District of Kansas. As a physician and leader for hip and knee surgeons, we wanted to provide a unique opportunity to support one of our own and put more doctors in the U.S. Senate. Please join AAHKS President C. Lowry Barnes, MD and AAHKS leaders on June 22, at 8:30 p.m. (EDT) for a virtual event benefiting Dr. Marshall. If you are unable to attend, please consider supporting him at KansansforMarshall.com. View the invitation and RSVP here.
Dr. Marshall has been a steadfast advocate for physician-led medicine since his election to Congress in 2016. His background includes working over 25 years as an obstetrician in Kansas and an owner in a physician-owned hospital. Dr. Marshall’s legislative accomplishments include leading several physician-centric bills during his relatively brief tenure in the U.S. Congress. He has championed efforts such as misvalued codes, prior authorization reform and surprise billing legislation which STOPS government price setting. The field is locked for the open U.S. Senate seat in Kansas and he is largely considered the front runner for the seat. The entire house of medicine is rallying around him and are pulling out all the stops to help him across the finish line. Read more about Dr. Marshall and his platform.
