The Canadian Institute for Health Information released new data this week that shows wait times for hip and knee replacement surgeries increased in 2017. The data shows 76 percent of patients had hip replacement surgery within the recommended six months in 2017 as compared with 81 percent in 2015. For knee replacement surgery, the percentages were 69 and 77 in the same years. According to the Vancouver Sun, the increase in wait times could be caused by an increase in the volume of surgeries.
