A paper presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, “Multimodal Pain Management in Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty: Trends Over the Last 10 Years,” showed that “in-hospital opioid use after hip and knee replacement surgeries decreased by one-third between 2006 and 2014.
