If you are considering attending the 30th AAHKS Annual Meeting in Dallas this year or travelling out of state for any other reason, be aware of state restrictions following travel. AAHKS Health Policy Fellows and staff have compiled a list of state restrictions. The good news is, due to improving conditions in Texas, it has been dropped from some state lists recently (Illinois, Pennsylvania). Other states have exceptions for returning healthcare workers (New York, New Jersey). Also, know your institution’s policies. Some have travel restrictions while others have restrictions on funding for attending conferences. Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has shifted from recommending post-travel restrictions for healthcare workers to recommending source control (masks, distancing) and symptom monitoring for everyone in the hospital or clinic. See the list here.
