Kinematic Alignment – Personalized Medicine in 2020

The ultimate goal in total knee replacement is a procedure that will get patients moving again, pain free, with minimal disruption to their everyday lives. A big part of this solution is how the patient feels after their surgery, and their satisfaction that their operative knee feels more “natural” and similar to what they have known their whole lives. Kinematic alignment strives to do this by restoring native anatomy that is individualized to each patient, restoring their anatomy to their pre-arthritic state. Understanding natural knee kinematics, and how implant design plays its part, as well as the simplified approach to achieving kinematic alignment is the goal of this talk. View the schedule.
